Terms
The agreement between you and StayStory. Written to be read rather than skipped.
StayStory is a product of Laurel & Lore, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. On this page, “StayStory”, “we” and “us” mean Laurel & Lore, LLC.
Last updated: 20 October 2026.
Agreeing to this
By creating an account or using StayStory, you agree to what is on this page. If you do not, please do not use the service.
You need to be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
What StayStory is
A tool for designing the guest experience at a place you host. It helps you examine the stay you offer, decide how it should feel, and turn that into something you can act on. Parts of it use AI to draft suggestions and content.
It is a thinking and drafting tool. It is not business, legal, financial or tax advice, and it does not guarantee any outcome — not more bookings, not better reviews, not more income. What you do with it is your judgement.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at info@staystory.co if you think someone else has got into your account. What happens under your login is your responsibility.
Give us an email address that is really yours and that you actually read.
What you own, and what we own
Your content is yours. Everything you write into StayStory — your Audit answers, your Compass, your notes about your property — stays yours. We claim no ownership of it. We need your permission to store and process it so the service can work, and that permission ends when you delete it or close your account.
What the AI drafts for you is yours too. Recommendations, Playbooks, listing copy, stories: use them, change them, publish them, sell stays off the back of them. We make no claim.
Two honest caveats. AI models can produce similar text for different people from similar inputs, so we cannot promise what you receive is unique, and in some places material generated by a machine may not be copyrightable at all. If something must be exclusively yours, write it yourself or have it reviewed.
StayStory itself is ours. The software, design, method and brand belong to Laurel & Lore, LLC. Using the service does not transfer any of that to you.
What the AI produces
AI gets things wrong. It can state something confidently and be mistaken, suggest something impractical for your property, or miss context you never gave it.
Read what it gives you before acting on it. Check anything that touches safety, money, law or a promise to a guest. StayStory suggests; you decide.
Using it reasonably
Please do not:
- break the law with it, or use it to harm anyone;
- upload other people’s personal information without a proper reason;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the service;
- resell access, or share one account across a business that should have several;
- copy the software, or use it to build a competing product.
If you write about your guests, only include what you need and what they would expect you to be handling. That is your responsibility rather than ours.
Paying
Some parts of StayStory are free. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
Payments appear on your statement under a descriptor identifying StayStory. Prices can change, but not for a period you have already paid for, and we will give notice first. Any tax that applies is added at checkout.
You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. There is a full refund within 7 days of a first payment — the Refunds page sets out exactly how it works.
Stopping
You can close your account whenever you like, and ask us to delete your data — see the Privacy page.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used to harm someone. Except where something serious makes it impossible, we will tell you why and give you a chance to get your work out.
No promises about availability
We work to keep StayStory running, but it is provided “as is”. We cannot promise it will always be available, never lose anything, or suit a particular purpose you have in mind. Features may change, and parts may be withdrawn.
Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Laurel & Lore, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost bookings, lost data, lost opportunity — arising from your use of StayStory.
Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 100 USD if you paid us nothing.
Some places do not allow limits like these. Where that is so, this clause applies only as far as it legally can, and nothing here removes a right you cannot waive.
If there is a dispute
Write to info@staystory.co first. Most things are settled by someone reading the email properly, and we would rather do that than anything else.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim closer to home.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top moves when we do, and for anything significant we will email account holders. Continuing to use StayStory after a change means you accept it. If you do not, close your account — and if a change lands mid-term and you are unhappy with it, write to us and we will sort out the remainder fairly.
The rest
If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up. These terms, with the Privacy and Refunds pages, are the whole agreement between us.
